As you know... I like to test new things. and because I've played with ink now.. what.. half a year.. and dropart longer and.. then I got these whie gellyroll that I love.. so I did get some new pens too to see how and what can I make with these tools and skills I have. I love to do lizards because they are full of details. scales and such... you know. so.. I started whit pencils.. I really REALLY did make first a fast sketch about what I was planning. but I didn't take any photos of that.. so.. I quess it didn't really happen. but when I started with this.. weird ink pen that.. leak all the time and dry really slow.. then I did take photos. Weeeelll.. I took one photo.. but you can see how I draw scales.. much.. it's a3 watercolour paper where I'm drawing.. and you can.. see a bit the pencil lines there too. Oh I forgot to tell you.. after the pencil work.. I did some light ink drops there.. and for some reason (that I can tell you now, was a horrible idea) I did drop some citron juice there too.. I don't know why.. maybe because I like the how that scent.. anyhow I should not have done it.. it made paper sticky and ... made everything I did later on... harder. But brave lad as I am.. I continued with this test.. after I had drawn this lizard ready.. I took water spray and let the ink ... scatter (I love that word). I KNOW but really.. I also did know at the beginning this would happen.. and it was part of the plan that I had in my mind. I love the way ink behave when I spray some water over it. sadly there's no way to control it completely. I love to work this way.. mostly because it's the same reason why I love ceramics.. there's always that.. excitement when you open the kiln and wait to see what has happened.. because... even if you do everything by the book.. there's this tiny magical something that can chance everything... so is with ink and water. so.. Next I took white gellyroll to make it.. better. oh Yeah.. I did add bit of watercolours there too.. you see.. the white and hint of ink background.. it was boring. BUT.. I really was thinking to leave it to this.. well not this.. but full body gellyrolled.. because it was looking kind of cool.. but.. BUT.. then again.. I had this plan and for ones I was going to play it trough even that my heart did try to say otherwise. I had bought these weird pens and I needed to see what will happen with them. and.. that's how he looks now.
Those pens are really weird.. and I'm not sure do I like em.. or do I even know what I see because colours are funny thing to my eye.. but.. It was nice to do this.. long and.. detailed project.. even that I'm not sure is this what I was looking for. I call it " I want to be a Dragon!" Jani
